Ratings & Reviews

  1. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Three Sad Tigers

If you like Ruiz films, then you often have to put up with some pretty bad prints. This tale concerns losers, drunkards, pimps and prostitutes. The lowest of the low is Tito who pimps out his sister. There are musical interludes which liven up the action in this claustrophobic slice of life.

  2. jimmymarkum's rating of the film Three Sad Tigers

Tongue twisters and bottomless bars. Jazz music. Chilean cooking recipes. The overall mood follows that of Cassavetes 'Shadows'; a particular drunken improvisation scene I think would remind more of 'Faces'. Also Scorsese's debut Who's That Knocking At My Dooor? might have (coincidentally?) influenced this.

  3. Clarice the Specter's rating of the film Three Sad Tigers

Reminded me a bit of Cassavetes' "Faces."
