Ratings & Reviews

  1. Zach Closs's rating of the film Time and Tide

Impeccably stylish and playful heroic-bloodshed flick. Unlike Woo or Lam, who demonstrate unyielding, ardent commitment to a central theme, Hark Tsui provides us with an assortment of memorable, irreverent, Tarantino-esque urban vignettes, with a dollop of Wong Kar-Wai's existential cool.

  2. Bonnet Michel's rating of the film Time and Tide

  3. Ben Bosko's rating of the film Time and Tide

stupidity as beauty. moment is king. character and story mean nothing. Perfection of form = substance.

  4. M Klein's rating of the film Time and Tide

With this film I officially give up on trying to like Tsui Hark, with a couple of honourable exceptions.

  5. ElTigreNegro's rating of the film Time and Tide

As much as i wanted to like this, Nicolas Tse is a very limited actor, and there's not a single interesting character. Once more, it really doesn't matter how fancy the action might be when you don't care who is chasing who.

  6. Gondo's rating of the film Time and Tide

Pure formal excess that is almost without equal.

  7. Ethan Vestby's rating of the film Time and Tide

I couldn't always follow along but the film is undeniably pure cinematic rhythm; the bodies, locations and the overall image are always shifting.
