Ratings & Reviews

  1. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Timecop

It's a very solid sci-fi thriller, but it seemed like the mechanism for getting to the future was suicidal. Mia Sara is beautiful, and JCVD has to do the splits. It's in his contract.

  2. Addy K.'s rating of the film Timecop

Often labeled a "guilty pleasure", there are many things going for TIMECOP. Peter Hyams' painterly aesthetics (inky blacks, symmetrical frames), and a wry Ron Silver playing the prototypical Verhoeven villain (or: Reagan/Trump, if you prefer). Dated 1994, the film's sci-fi has iPhones, bluetooth and smart homes. Not bad. Pulpiness is toasted with gusto—bullets, boobs, bad jokes. It's the best cheap date you'll have!

  3. HKFanatic's rating of the film Timecop

Jean-Claude Van Damme successfully continued his early career momentum by teaming up with "Outland" director Peter Hyams, who brings with him a glossy visual palette full of inky blacks (which admittedly render some scenes too dark to follow). The result was a box office crowdpleaser, though these days the film is perhaps most interesting for the unintended political relevance of Ron Silver's Trump-esque baddie.

  4. FISCHER's rating of the film Timecop

Un polar fantastique ambitieux mais qui tient très peu ses promesses ..... www.cinefiches.com

  5. Kamran's rating of the film Timecop

B film production values, but this is an entertaining flick with a relatively sensible script and narrative development. +JCVD. 70/100 - Good.

  6. Muffinhead1985's rating of the film Timecop

Detracted as a film by the inclusion of Van Damme. An action filled gulity pleasure.
