Ratings & Reviews

  1. Richmond Hill's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

A wonderfully cast adaptation (probably the best as such of Le Carre's work), this is an elegant slow-reveal of a series with nary the need for a crane shot or choppy editing, just intelligently paced drama that doesn't lay all of its cards on the table in the first episode. A good example of what one might call'peak period' BBC where productions were made with integrity & respect for the abilities of the audience.

  2. pluviosity's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

in the end, I got myself surprised why I have nothing to complain from the series. But hey, it's an amazing cast, and an amazing adaptation.

  3. staglias's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

wow. I'm going to read this now.

  4. codyhunter's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

  5. davefilkins's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

The new film is incredible, but the late Sir Alec Guinness' portrayal of George Smiley is more accessible and emotive. This series maintains sharp witty dialogue and a dark atmosphere that grabs the viewer from the very start. Pure brilliance.

  6. Valérie Vivancos's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

a "must watch" addition to the most recent fim - Alec Guiness is just great

  7. Miasma's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

"I'll become an oak of my own generation." Occasionally there are just lovely little deliveries.

  8. Edna Sweetlove's rating of the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

6 hours of pure class. The recent cinema version is dogshite of the lowest order.
