Our take

Tomboy is the film that made us fall in love with Céline Sciamma. This radiant second feature from the Portrait of a Lady on Fire director takes another look at adolescence, tackling issues of gender identity with delicacy and insight. Featuring natural newcomer Zoé Heran as its eponymous “tomboy.”
