Like Pintilie's early works, "Meandre" & this, there is importance of sounds in 60's Romanian films. Explosions which get rid of human lifes from our world, echoes of a gallop with ruthless death, sounds of trains trampling a line, manic voices from a soccer game. I noticed that when I write about RO films, I always use a word "menace" and this is due to these apocalyptic sounds which echo at the end of the world.
