Surprised I enjoyed it as much as a I did. The 1st 2/3rd's of the movie is 4star worthy (For the type of movie it is & striving to be). The quality wavers the last 25 or so mins- the film begins to make a couple missteps with falling into boring cliches and the ending feels like it was mailed in to wrap it up. Overall it's entertaining enough with some worthwhile laughs and the main protagonists are genuinely likable
1.5 - Starts off interesting enough with a decent premise and some clever comedy moments, but as it goes on its thin plot becomes exposed and as a result the film turns into exactly what it was originally parodying, a horror film. Unfortunately a real villain is introduced, complete with unnecessary family backstory, and finally we're also introduced to a romantic plot line that I didn't think worked either.
Hands up who loves a good ol' entertaining movie? Sometimes all you want and need from a movie is to be entertained - this is that movie! Fun, humorous, well made, no thinly veiled aspirations to be anything it's not, 'Tucker & Dale' is a solid piece of filmmaking in that most tricky of genres... the comedy-horror. It's on Netflix Mubists so do yourself a favour and watch it! :-)
