A gay re-telling of Charles Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist. Updated to current times, moved out of the poor house and onto the streets, the tale is told from the point of Dickens’ character, Artful Dodger – now Dodge. The prosaically beautiful Oliver falls into the hands of down-and-out young men.

"Twist" takes a familiar story -- here it is Oliver Twist" -- and screws with it ten times over, but in the best ways possible. I thoroughly enjoyed the downward spiral that is displayed here, more so with Nick Stahl's character than the others. It is told in a very cinematically "indie" way, with a lot of handheld camera and a lot of improvised dialogue. It is this urbanized edge that makes the film work. See it.
