  1. dionysus67's rating of the film Until the Ship Sails

Unadorned in its portrayal of raw (female) sexuality and of macho and patriarchal mores, a peasant's mini-odyssey from the mountains to Piraeus in order to emigrate to Australia, is transformed into a theological parable about fall and sin, underlined by the motif of the holy prostitute. There are epiphanies like the psalms of the two metallurgists in what is a poetic, yet rough, look on marginal social landscapes.

  2. matthew Tsarmaklis's rating of the film Until the Ship Sails

A very powerful and sad circle of the human need to escape loneliness only to discover it follows as we run away to what we dont know either..

  4. Samuel T.'s rating of the film Until the Ship Sails

Re-watch. And with more knowledge this time around, thanks to fellow cinephiles. Essential.

  5. Robert Orlowski's rating of the film Until the Ship Sails

Hmmm so much to comprehend here: a landscape that shifts alongside a refocusing of perspectives/main characters, a blurred borderline between misogony/feminist critique, and a radical camera/ occasioanl formal brillance (not to mention that scene where they are conversing through voided door frame) deffinitely need a re-watch and probably 5/5
