Serial killer tales are more popular and prevalent right now than any time since the early Nineties, but this second season of "Crime Story" manages to distinguish itself thanks to Darren Criss' riveting performance as Andrew Cunanan, a chameleon social-climber made monstrous by his desire for a life above his station. Best series of 2018. A real nice surprise. I had read good things about this and was unaware of the background before watching this, but exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to rewatching this again and also it might be an series in reverse, 8 to 2, then ep 1 and then 9.
It's trying to saying something about the American Dream and being gay in America but it feels too obvious and boring to be interesting. Criss astounds and revolts, Wittrock provides the strongest storyline, Cruz is wonderfully/intentionally ?) bad and Martin is woefully miscast. I forgot Edgar Ramirez was in this.
