V/H/S, and this one more than ever have always been about showcasing an anthology trove of fresh, formless, new young cinema. Directors in their late 20's painting on a blank, contemporary canvas, a zeitgeist of a generation grown through Y2K. Viral is fresher and more creative than ever, with stories bleeding innovation. Forget milked franchises, these shorts show the inventive new horror of the 2010's.
Best effort comes from "Bonestorm," the final piece before the wrap-around story finishes. Two skate kids in So-Cal try to get a video made when they blow everything to follow their idiot D.P./director to Mexico. Most creative is "Parallel Worlds" which shows Nacho Vigalando saw a Rick and Morty episode. Otherwise not worth it. Watch "Darknet."
