Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Victory

Certainement un des films les plus inintéressants et les plus insipides du grand metteur en scène John Huston, avec la même année le tout aussi médiocre "Phobia", qui a conçu là une oeuvre strictement alimentaire... www.cinefiches.com

  2. Nino Lasso's rating of the film Victory

If someone ever wanted to watch Pelé and Silvester Stallone duking it out against the Nazis during a soccer match, this is what they were looking for.

  3. Star Lord's rating of the film Victory

Fuga per la vittoria. Il film in sé sarebbe da 2,5 stelle, ma lo adoro e lo rivedo sempre volentieri.

  4. sacajawèale's rating of the film Victory

  5. msmichel's rating of the film Victory

Lame star vehicle that was hard to believe was from the great John Huston. This and 'Phobia' seemed like the end of an amazing career then he surprised us with 'Under the Volcano' and 'Prizzi's Honor' thank god. 'Victory' if anything just seems to trivialize the war and becomes less and less logical/believable as it goes along. Perormances are uniformily awful and film failed in makng Pele a movie star. The pits.

  6. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Victory

Another curiosity in John Huston's filmography. The screenplay is very thin if we put aside the soccer theme. So let's focus on the performances of Pelé and his comrades who are, let's say it once and for all, soccer stars and NOT football players (you know, this American game featuring men in shorts fighting for a ball). A DVD strictly reserved to soccer fans or John Huston completists.

  7. Pierluigi Puccini's rating of the film Victory

Right at the bottom of John Huston's outstanding career.
