  1. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film Violent Saturday

  2. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Violent Saturday

Here's a movie that's so violent that even the Amish are participating. There's a standoff and all Mature had to do was throw the keys to the truck outside. But, no. His son thinks he's a coward. The whole town has problems. Even Leith wants to run off with a married man. Still, this is a nicer Leith than the one in 'The Brain that wouldn't Die'. Mature is a hero in the end, and he says "Violence is bad, kids".

  3. FISCHER's rating of the film Violent Saturday

L'action sauvage et brutale du film (attaque de la banque et prise d'otages) n'est ici que le contrepoint "logique" des tensions relationnelles précitées, une sorte d'acmé qui dévoile et libère une violence trop longtemps contenue... www.cinefiches.com

  4. William's rating of the film Violent Saturday

The death of a character in this film actually made me gasp; that almost never happens.

  5. Diderot's rating of the film Violent Saturday

"It's so stupid to be alive in the morning and dead in the afternoon." I love this melancholy bank robbery movie. And there's a great bit part in it by the divine Sylvia Sidney.

  7. nouvelle vague 1960's rating of the film Violent Saturday

Director Richard Fleischer and screenwriter Sydney Boehm ,give us a wonderful genre blending view of small town America.Part bank heist, part melodrama. The film follows the build up to a robbery, that will change the lives of not only the crooks, but a small group of local transgressors (peeping tom, drunk, cheating wife etc). However,it's the choices made by two good men when facing evil, that's at the films moral core.

  8. Sudipto Basu's rating of the film Violent Saturday

Is it really a happy ending or one of the great veiled attacks on America's cult of violence?

  9. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Violent Saturday

When Douglas Sirk meets Don Siegel, in the Arizona desert you find Richard Fleischer behind a cactus. Ten first class actors in glorious Technicolor and infamous situations. Voyeurism, nymphomania and other perversions. Check out the zone 2 DVD /Blu Ray just released in France. A must. Masterpiece. And I mean it.
