    Takes the slice of homey Americana movie and laces it with bitter. Starting with the two leads: not entirely pleasant folk. The husband is sneakily bullying, while the wife is grasping and lusts for bright lights big city. Yes, small town life is depicted as the purer, fuller life against the corruption of the city, but it's smart enough to show the tedium and small-mindedness of the towns, the youths' urge to flee.
