  1. CarlosEsquives's rating of the film Walk Cheerfully

  2. Lynch/Fellini's rating of the film Walk Cheerfully

I guess I am a sucker for Ozu and I really loved the melodrama he has on display here. I thought it was a really good movie!

  3. Ozu_Teapot's rating of the film Walk Cheerfully

An early silent film from Ozu about a small-time gangster who attempts to give up crime for the sake of true love. Very interesting to see for a different style of Ozu, far removed from his later more famous films both in it's themes and camera work. There are some good comedic moments too, and Satoko Date makes a great "bad girl" femme-fatale.

  4. Stevie's rating of the film Walk Cheerfully

Inventive and playful but definitely a lesser silent Ozu film. Ozu fans should still watch this one, if only to see the director of Tokyo Story going gangster.
