Great stuff! It's rough and ready, honest as hell and quite inspiring. A decent look into one of the pioneering bands of the early 80's hardcore punk scene. I only ever had one minutemen album and never even knew what these guys looked like. 4 stars
I always appreciated the fact that the Minutemen did their own thing more than actually enjoyed much of their music. This documentary didn't change either one of those things. I discovered a few more tunes that grabbed me, but it certainly reinforced my sense of their sincere and committed approach. Going in you know it is going to get sad when D. Boon passes away, but it is heartfelt without drowning in bathos.
