Ratings & Reviews

  1. Karl J. Kipling's rating of the film We Live Again

3.5. Does a lot of things right in the first half - especially the pleasantly surprising long song sequences in the original Russian - then seems to give up, skipping through most of the rest of Tolstoy's novel before foolishly, disastrously changing the ending.

  2. Irma Vep's rating of the film We Live Again

Pretty dire (especially the rote and utterly unconvincing ending) but Sten is luminous and there are some great moments: March literally setting fire to his youthful decency amidst a Tsarist orgy; watching him seduce Sten when we know he's rotten but she hasn't put it together yet; that slow pan over a greenhouse soaked in the rain.
