Ratings & Reviews

  1. Movies Nick's rating of the film Went the Day Well?

Both fascinating as a historical artifact--it presented a postwar-type view during the war--and simply as e statement on what makes a society run, through thick and thin. Remarkable work.

  2. CRW's rating of the film Went the Day Well?

Thrilling! Should get a Criterion release.

  3. Richmond Hill's rating of the film Went the Day Well?

A surprisingly hard-edged propaganda drama which reveals a rather steely determination under the rosy cheeked village veneer. The fact that most of the heroic protagonists are female and/or middle-aged - very home front - is a great appeal and only makes the small schisms of violence all the more believable in the pursuit of self and homeland preservation. A small gem.
