White Epilepsy explores the body liberated from any kind of ratio, the so-called "body without organs", that enters the film like a spark. The film is frightening and sensual: maybe White Epilepsy is the only possible cinematic translation of Bataille's feverish literature. My review: http://specchioscuro.it/white-epilepsy/#english
FNC '12 Grandrieux tests the loyalty of his fans with this stark black and white (mostly) minimalist film examing the human form barely illuminated in the darkness of the forest. Also conceived as a performance installation where its lack of engagement may play a lot better. Hypntoic in a way especially with the sparce soundtrack of nocturnal noise. Certainly a comedown from previous work.
