Powerful film. The night in Africa is so dark, its something we Europeans have long ceased to experience. More from Africa please, MUBI.
I was anxious through the whole movie. Not because I didn't like it. I did (though the word 'like' is not the best choice in the situation). But for the reason of deep sadness and shock how such things are still likely to happen.
FNC '14 A tale of superstition and survival that fails to connect with the viewer in a meaningful way mainly due to its meandering story and lack of an emotional core. Perhaps just because it pales so much in comparison to Nguyen's 'Rebelle (War Witch)' which shared a similar theme but not plot. Overlong with performances varying between over bearing and amateurish.
