A strong vehicle for Jason Statham that's success will rest on one's views on his limitations as an action star/actor. Remake of the 86' film "Heat" that starred B. Renyolds. Action choreography by Cory Yuen is quite good but the schizophrenic screenplay is all over the place. Personally I enjoyed this strange confection but one can understand other's disdain. Guilty pleasure?
I must admit, I am a real sucker for a Jason Statham flick. Ever the down-trodden, Statham adds so much charm to this otherwise odd mobster film. If Droopy Dog could ever be personified by a martial arts expert, then here he is. Statham's role (with too many bizarre cameos to mention) is akin to his role in Hummingbird, broken, at odds with himself & dangerous & it's solely Statham that stops you from switching off.C
This film is both not good and not bad. It is a really really, REALLY weird film on mainstream action genre. 30 minutes into the film and I swear I can never know what will happens next. It takes a REALLY unpredictable and weird twist This film also have a very sluggish almost pothead-lazy pace that defies all regulation and the game of the genre. Was t worth my time? every damn second of it,
