  1. CarlosEsquives's rating of the film Wild Flower

"El Indio" junta tópicos mexicanos; el melodrama de un amor obstruido por los prejuicios, los lazos de sangre y el drama histórico. En su camino, rastros de un pronunciada visión antropológica que va desde la música hasta las prácticas cotidianas. Los mejores momentos del filme son cuando el director encuadra con maestría. Esto lo convierte por momentos en un filme western y épico.

  2. francisca bacon's rating of the film Wild Flower

3,5 An instance of persona phogocyting over individual is that Dolores del Rio's “real” name is to me María Candelaria - her role in '44 Xochimilco (just as Peter Falk is avant tout Columbo) - and though films change, the sobriquet remains, aided perhaps by oft-seen columnar aspens in Fernández' landscapes rising like vegetal supplicant hyperbolic Candles. Sons revolt against fathers' ways, but their righteous hybris

  3. ramosbarajas's rating of the film Wild Flower

The first film where Fernandez collaborated with his magical team of Figueroa, Magdaleno, Armendariz and del Rio. The dialogue and metaphors concerning individuals and the land are extremely memorable. They are great lines, which would be echoed in the director's future films. Even if it's a little shaky, it's a great start. The cast gives solid performances, and there is even a nice cameo from Fernandez himself.
