  1. yulyasemenova's rating of the film Willow Springs

  2. Constance Bennett's rating of the film Willow Springs

A visually stunning film from the very moment it starts. The way Schroeter captures the light playing in the opening scene as the car travels down the road is superb. Each scene following this is equally captivating making full use of facial expressions and body gestures that rival those used in Fassbinder's films. Magdalena Montezuma is hypnotising throughout and Schroeter is a genius. A feast for the senses.

  3. mad.lucas's rating of the film Willow Springs

Powerful imagery but lacks in character development.

  4. Rafael Zen's rating of the film Willow Springs

This american style german film plays a very tricky kind of cinema, the sad tale of adult misery. It is a film to be seen, heard and felt - there are so many levels of motion arts wizardry in here, it's almost overwhelming. Schroeter really masters painting class in Willow Springs, each scene is a showstopper.

  7. Jason's rating of the film Willow Springs

The incandescent America-as-world-as-American intermezzo, German-style. Just absolutely perfect.

  8. Paolo Simeone's rating of the film Willow Springs

I would like to say that I've really understood what Schroeter wanted to say, but it goes through so many levels of meh that I really couldn't.

  9. AugusteB's rating of the film Willow Springs

A rediscovery of a German underground masterpiece (at least for me)
