Ratings & Reviews

  1. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

I read the book, and was very impressed with the film. The cinematography is beautiful, and there's so many amazing stories to tell. It focuses mostly on the more lurid aspects of society, and not intended to be a general history of Jackson County. Indeed the madness, death and destruction shows how difficult it was to live there in that time period of 1890 - 1910.

  2. Vincent T's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

stupid voiceovers, especially the whispers. And stupid background music. Pretty cinematography, often too pretty and pointless. There are some nice moments, but not abundant enough to recommend as a whole.

  3. Ale/M's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

Messa in scena mediocre.Paratelevisiva. Nonostante il bianco e nero sfavillante e ruffiano, non siamo molto distanti dallo stile delle ricostruzioni di delitti o di avvistamenti di UFO di certe trasmissioni tv americane.Oh no, non c'รจ neanche abbastanza humor nero da farne dimenticare i difetti. Peccato. Il materiale di partenza era buono per farne un mockumentary godibile.

  4. Adam Whybray's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

As historically exploitative as a Decemberists album and as irresistibly ghoulish. Murder ballads, epidemics and suicidal melancholics. Spooked.

  5. Paolo Simeone's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

A pompous collection of finely shooted sketches with a classical soundtrack which doesn't provide any social commentary already made by any other american horror about the damages of puritanism. Disappointing in a word despite the research work (probably done by the author of the book).

  6. LordeFanBoy's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

  7. je m'appelle florent's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

  8. E. Ev's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

  9. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film Wisconsin Death Trip

Unique and enthralling documentary examines the fascinatingly morbid history of Black River Falls, Wisconsin through poetic imagery, authentic photographs, and bizarre juxtaposition with images from modern day Black River Falls. There is no clear structure or storyline, it's more of an extended mood piece - an entrancing collage of images and shocking anecdotes.
