Launching off from a block of ice, Beavers sets about documenting the transformation of organic matter (solids to liquids to gases) with another form of organic matter (celluloid). This very act of creating cinema is reflexive of the book binding process (cinema as documentation) and juxtaposed against the pig blood crepe (cinema as consumption).
