Ratings & Reviews

  1. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Zombie Lake

Those darn Nazi zombies! I hate them! They keep eating nubile young females for no apparent reason.

  2. ExperimentoFilm's rating of the film Zombie Lake

Rollin + Franco = poetic, bloody no-budget sleaze. Acting style, rhythm, humour and setting make this an unexpected companion piece to Herzog's HEART OF GLASS.

  3. This is Jake Kath's rating of the film Zombie Lake

Jean Rollin movies sure are odd ones. They seem to be stuck in this hypnotic state. Shots linger longer than they should. There's a fetishistic sense of the location. The sound design focuses on more on the environment than most horror films should. With that being said, this is one of the weirdest ones on of his filmography. The little girl family bonding with the zombie lake was something unique.

  4. Matthew_Lucas's rating of the film Zombie Lake

Perhaps Jean Rollin's worst film, ZOMBIE LAKE is a bizarre and nonsensical tale of a cursed lake there the bodies of massacred soldiers were thrown during the war, only to rise again to prey on naked female swimmers. There are a few interesting visual ideas, but the subplot about the zombie reuniting with his still living daughter is truly off the rails, not to mention the laughable makeup. Smacks of a paycheck job.
