A sensitive, educated black man’s World War II-time problems. This is essentially the duplicate of his peace-time problems which are pointed up in a flashback of his life, and primarily of his war-time adventures with four white soldiers on a reconnaissance mission on a Japanese-held island.
Two friends love one and the same girl. She promises to marry one of them. The friends are drafted into the army and the one the girl promised to marry disappears (he ends up in a concentration camp). The other man eventually returns from the front and tells the girl that her fiance was killed.
