UNE VIE VIOLENTE

Stéphane moves to Paris to flee his past. The death of a comrade brings back memories of his transformation from a youth with conventional aspirations to a radicalized activist with dangerous ties. Returning to Corsica for his friend’s funeral, Stéphane knows that the trip could cost him his life.

Hopping remarkably between time periods, Corsican-born director Thierry de Peretti explores the nationalist movement of his native island with ambitious scope and attention to detail. An increasing sense of threat settles on the drama as both personal beliefs—and violence—get out of hand.
