Notes et avis

  1. Chris Stott's rating of the film Apostasy

An intense, finely observed study of the tensions generated within a religious community between the rules of faith and the law of nature, between loyalty to a system and love of family. The pain on Siobhan Finneran's face is etched into every frame, so much so that at times viewing becomes a rather heavy burden.

  2. Oluseyi's rating of the film Apostasy

  3. Andrew L's rating of the film Apostasy

A fantastic insight into a state of mind. Brilliantly written, acted and photographed. The only (small) let down was the script running out of steam a little, at the end. But still, the British film of the year, for me, so far.

  4. chazell's rating of the film Apostasy

Clinically numbing (not necessarily a bad thing) but wanted more breakdown. Robert Emms' character in Rufus Norris's 'Broken' basically needed to be in this- so much potential, wasted.

  5. Annie Gentil-Kraatz's rating of the film Apostasy

An insight into the Jehovah's witnesses and their faith through the story of a mother and her two daughters raised in the faith. I did not know much about Jehovah's witnesses, for example why they do not accept transfusions and this was a real eye opener. It gave a stark view on the group and their disfellowshipping system.
