Ce que vous en pensez

  • HKFanatic's rating of the film Mayhem

After enjoying Joe Lynch's underrated 'Die Hard in a Room'-flick "Everly," I had modest hopes for "Mayhem," despite the fact that it more or less shares a premise with the James Gunn-penned "Belko Experiment." But I knew I was in trouble when the film spent its first 25 minutes on opaque corporate intrigue. While our leads are charming, "Mayhem" just never erupts into the unhinged splatterflick you're anticipating.

  • Nicholas Gregory's rating of the film Mayhem

Mayhem's cut-throat and cold-blooded, corporate-suit commentary is direct, if arguably well-suited to be, while its momentum is saggy, both in its quiet-before-the-storm opening act, and with too-much strategizing and video-game boss-leveling, in-lieu of splatter-mayhem and jokes. Yet, with so many thrills and creativity when it does use those elements, Mayhem is twice as good as the similar, The Belko Experiment.

  • msmichel's rating of the film Mayhem

Lighthearted take on the 'outbreak' genre featuring a fun turn from Steven Yeun and a great performance (for the genre) by Samara Weaving. Some good old school gore effects that probably could have been amped up quite a bit as could some of the background action. Fun but disposable pop garbage featuring a good score that brings to mind John Carpenter.

  • Palmat's rating of the film Mayhem

A pretty fun and entertaining flick with enough jokes and gore to keep things moving. More successful than The Belko Experiment overall thanks to the two leads who were good in this one and had some decent chemistry. And the synth score from Steve Moore sure sweetened the deal for me. Forgettable but above average.

  • Aprilia Gunawan's rating of the film Mayhem

Except for the anti-climatic ending, I weirdly enjoyed this, something I would choose to watch with my friends in a sleep-over event. Witty dialogues and Steven Yeun just can't avoid bloodbath for a second

  • Rocco's rating of the film Mayhem

Cartoonishly violent and bitterly cynical, with an adorably unhinged performance by Steven Yeun. Seriously satisfying cinematic fast-food for those jonesing for a harmless bloodletting.

  • Sara Sousa's rating of the film Mayhem

About as complex, subtle and creative as a punch in the face. There really wasn't any part of the narrative that wasn't a cliché and/or ridiculous. Some bad films manage to entertain you but this didn't even do that for me - the narrative was so poorly constructed and the dialogues were so bad. Add that to the bland cinematography and bad performances and the result is probably one of the worst films I've ever seen

  • Evan Schafer's rating of the film Mayhem

I liked the multiple tropes of horror blended into this film. It literally is like The Purge mixed with any outbreak film mixed with Belko Experiment all at once. It is a mish-mash of action and comedy and horror and each piece works well within its stylistic and literal boundaries of the workplace. If you're looking for a good movie for a night in, this one is definitely a popcorn-muncher for sure. I liked it.
