#sorrynotsorry. Portugal was under extreme weather when i saw this, yet i found it to be cathartic. This is Tarkovsky for guys-into-shit-blowing-up. It had a great story, interesting characters, superb sfx+some killer stunts. Maggie Grace is Liam Neeson's daughter on Taken. She's not taken anymore. SHE TAKES! Loved her agency. The dominator is a dreamboat. This is to now what Twister must have been to 90s audiences.
"Hurricane Heist" is the best kind of B-Movie. Twenty years ago, this would have starred Keanu Reeves or Christian Slater (in fact, twenty years ago I think it DID star Christian Slater). In 2018 we get a bunch of reliable character actors from TV, sturdy filmmaking from journeyman director Rob Cohen, and several fake Southern accents spouting dialogue that's way funnier than it had to be, intentionally or not.
Surprise, surprise. This has got to be one of the most entertaining films of the year. Kept me and the whole theatre on the edge of our seats, the entire time. Hope it gets a lot more recognition. Casey (Maggie Grace) is the badass character we all needed. Shoutout to Toby Kebbell and Ralph Ineson too. Ineson, in particular, made me laugh in the midst of all his rage and anger.
Leave it to the filmmakers crazy enough to come up with an impossibly literal concept and then proceed to try and take it seriously. Sure, we didn't need another "Sharknado," but by trying to be a credible caper, "The Hurricane Heist" squanders its endlessly incredulous possibilities. It's a dreadfully boring thriller, and when the third-act action sequence arrives, it only stands as a "what could've been" moment.
I mean it's no Heavy Rain aka The Flood, but what is? NOTHING. Fuck you for suggesting otherwise. I bet you love Downstream Color you son of a bitch. I'm sorry. I've been dri- No dont call your fucking mom!
I'm giving this 1 star, but this is legitimately some of the most fun i've had watching a film in a while. It ends with the simpsons gag "old man yells at cloud" (altho calling Ralph Ineson old is an obvi exaggeration)
Oh dear! They really were punting the fast and furious angle in the promo material with the typefacing and the prominent 'From the director of ..'
The film is actually a sub par action movie with predicable plot and characters.
