THREE STONES FOR JEAN GENET

In April of 2013, American singer Patti Smith travels to the grave of French writer Jean Genet in Larache, Morocco. She brings him three stones, which she collected for him over 30 years earlier.

A single black-and-white take shot with a 16mm Bolex camera—once belonging to Christoph Schlingensief!—this prizewinning short film sees Frieder Shlaich follow musician and author Patti Smith to the grave of Jean Genet. A small, special tribute to the power of our personal heroes, narrated by Smith.
