1.5 Serene harmony at the mansion full of weirdos become gradually broken by the innocent appearance of a girl in "La mansion de Araucaima", which has potential to become maddeningly iridescent perversion like "La grande bouffe" or "Delicatessen". But it completely fails to be incarnated as some kind of coherent art. There is just empty atmosphere which goes nowhere. Not so strange, not so voluptuous. Just impotent.
This was a beautiful film. I will say there was a few moments I thought came and went so quickly that deserved more time. The climax of the film happened so quickly you barely had time to really feel the results of everyone's actions. Also this was a true representation of how people saw blacks as portrayed in this film. Christobel's character was beautiful but very much a reflection of blackness in South America. 3.
Nota: 5'25
