Having to watch its remake before the original in highschool and thought it was an awesome film, specially I was very into Mcgreggor those days (til now, but specially those days), I found this original version is the best, although much less prettier girls casted. As usual, no need for a remake!
Very good thriller with Kim bodnia winning the actor honours. I think this is far darker and creepier cause of its low budget and the remake just seemed overdone. Its no classic but its a very well made.
Whilst undeniably a fine film i actually liked the remake better, mainly due to some unneccessary scenes in the original such as the racist scene in the bar, something i supposse you come to expect from the 'open and free' Danish society. Having said that a very good watchable movie.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau acts in his first feature and he never looked back. He gets some great support from Sofie Gråbøl and the excellent Kim Bodnia in what is one of the tenser Danish movies I have seen. Was the ending also inspiration for "Saw" later and other thrillers? A memorable thriller.
like a who's who of Danish TV stars Sarah Lund, Martin and Ruth from ''The Bridge'' and of course the lead character has a little to do with 'Game of Thrones'.. Very tame film though, all tension completely lost when killer is revealed far too soon.
