In her English language debut, award-winning Polish director Małgorzata Szumowska impeccably crafts a folk horror coming-of-age set in a religious cult. Raffey Cassidy’s haunting performance anchors this allegorical fable of fading faith and toxic masculinity with echoes of The Witch and Midsommar.
