Movie Poster of the Week: "What?"

Adrian Curry

As a great big lurid question mark hangs over his future, it seems that there's no time like the present to celebrate the films of Roman Polanski, in poster form. (Glenn Kenny has already spoken much more eloquently, and amusingly, about The Polanski Affair this morning than I ever could). My favorite Polanski poster would have to be the American one-sheet for Rosemary's Baby which i wrote about in an earlier incarnation of this column, but this handful of international oddities perfectly capture the puzzling charm of one of the more eclectic and eccentric bodies of work in the cinema. Because no one does it to you like Roman Polanski.
