I don't see the reason for such idealization except as a personal fetishism of global perfection--material for effect and not affect--subsuming the state of the world's geopolitical climate or the more-prophetic, non-rarefied climates in which the 7.5 Billion lay our greasy heads. I'm reminded more of German Romanticism than contemporary poignancy's pithy flow from wise film-making. Easily likeable, congruently false
This is peak landscapic psychedelia. Exactly two months since I've seen Malena Szlam's ALTIPLANO, and I didn't know what to make of it. From the past two weeks, I have been getting an incredible urge to revisit it. It is extraordinarily indelible. One of the *very* few films in recent times, which showcase tremendous utilization of moving image and sound, and this is truly the best.
