Steve Pulaski's rating of the film If Beale Street Could Talk

Like the earnest, unmatched words of James Baldwin's novel, Barry Jenkins' adaptation of "If Beale Street Could Talk" is a marvelous, tender work. Its characters somehow manage to remain steadfast in their optimism for the future despite a litany of setbacks, racial injustices, and discrimination. From its terrific actors to its lavish lighting and cinematography, it's poetry in motion.
