Radu Muntean made one of the most pointed dramas of the Romanian New Wave with this Cannes Un Certain Regard highlight. Featuring the acute long takes and unaffected realism so highly praised in that movement, Muntean’s slowly evolving and devolving scenes of a relationship are subdued and true.
