Marketing Manager, MUBI Releases, Germany

MUBI is a rapidly growing global streaming service curating the world’s best cinema. We are seeking a creative and passionate marketing professional with a keen eye for detail to join our team in Berlin. 

As the Marketing Manager for MUBI Releases, Germany you will be responsible to craft and deliver exciting and innovative marketing campaigns for our slate of new releases in Germany, across theatrical and digital distribution. This includes working closely with MUBI's local Director of Distribution and the global distribution team to plan and execute digital and traditional marketing campaigns, organizing events with partners and local institutions, building our local distribution strategy and collaborating with the Marketing team on wider marketing efforts in Germany with the aim of building awareness for MUBI. 

Recent titles included global SVOD campaigns for Andrea Arnold’’s Cow and Emma Seligman’s Shiva Baby as well as DE theatrical campaigns for Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Memoria and Jonas Carpignano’s A Chiara among others. 

Responsibilities

  • Set marketing strategy and priorities for new releases, from theatrical to global SVOD campaigns
  • Work closely with our in-house creative team to develop creative marketing campaigns and drafting creative briefs
  • Develop ideas for new partnerships and marketing activities and coordinate outreach to broaden the reach of our marketing efforts
  • Manage relationships with key contacts of cinemas, partners and press  
  • Develop marketing copy for the website, digital ads and emails
  • Build email campaigns in Mailchimp 
  • Manage the translation process for international SVOD campaigns and managing the proofing process
  • Upload creatives for paid digital campaigns across Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Google and programmatic 
  • Prepare pitch decks for new acquisitions and campaign round-ups 
  • Attend film festivals and other industry networking events
  • Work closely with the Distribution team on the German launch of MUBI GO
  • Coordinate all press activity and events around the new releases with the German PR agency in collaboration with the Global Director of Communications
  • Support additional marketing activities for high-profile first pay window titles

  • Dedicated to making every campaign the best it can be 
  • German Native speaker and fluent in English

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience in entertainment or creative marketing, ideally in film 
  • Experiences in theatrical and/or digital distribution desirable
  • Experience in planning and executing marketing campaigns, with particular knowledge/understanding of German audiences
  • Excellent working knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets & Slides
  • Experience using Mailchimp, Trello, Photoshop and Premiere Pro strongly desirable 
  • Ability to determine KPIs, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and optimise accordingly
Salary: Dependent on experience.
