10 of the Brighter Stars

I never formally maintain a top 10; I don’t much care for hierarchizing exercises as such. I’m putting it together now with the idea that these are not ten best (how far ahead of that we are) or the ten I like most (I like too much and too often) but ten that speak to me, that I feel I know as well as skins – as favourite stars. And ten that I think say something. Ten, perhaps, that I, whoever I may be, find profound in themselves. And perhaps, as a constellation, these films may say something that any one of them would not.
