Now onto 2007…

The following list will cover my 2007 in film list, from best to worst, based on UK cinema release dates and straight-to-DVD releases (I’m also including Blade Runner – The Final Cut because it was a newly created version of an older film). The list will be continually altered as new films are seen and ones on the list are re-watched.

This particular year, while it had great films like any other year, feels strangely patchy for me compared to my 2008 and 2009 lists, something I think is probably the result of not seeing some of the most acclaimed or significant films yet (eg. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) and the fact a lot of films like No Country For Old Men got released the year after in Britain. If anyone can recommend a mainstream or obscure film that was released in 2007, even if it didn’t get a UK release in some form until a year or so later, that isn’t on the list, I will be obliged.
