I need to do some serious work on the first 10 or so years of this list. For example, I firmly believe D&C is a masterpiece but it’s one of only two great movies I’ve seen from 1993 (Groundhog Day being the other).

2005 kind of sucked. I love Brick, but if I made a list of my 100 favorite movies since I’ve been alive, it remains to be seen whether it would make it.

Best movie years since I’ve been alive:
1989
1994
1995
1999
2002
2007
2011

Hardest films to leave off: Reservoir Dogs (1992), Out of Sight (1998), Memento (2000), The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (2004), There Will Be Blood (2007), Margaret (2011)
