Allison Goes to Institut Lumière

by Ally the Manic Listmaker
On June 27, 2012, I went to the Lumière Brothers’ house in Lyon, France! They shot the first film that was screened to the public: Employees Leaving the Lumière Factory (1895). The street the house is on is called Rue du 1er Film (Street of the First Film). Part of the Institut is the Cinematheque, which is on the same grounds. If you’re ever in Lyon, France, and are interested in early cinema, it’s well-worth a trip. Visit my site: Cinema Becomes Her Read more
