Although I wanted to visit Jacques Demy’s hometown of Nantes, I had no idea how many movies had actually been filmed there until I went (October 2, 2010). At the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, there was a video screen of some films that had been filmed in Nantes. Two out of the four clips were of films directed by Jacques Demy, who hailed from this town. Another clip was the documentary Jacquot de Nantes made about Jacques Demy, by his wife, Agnès Varda.
