“Contrary to popular belief, Canada’s problem is one of too much nationalism, not too little. Indeed, the central paradox of the country is that its unity is strongest when its various nationalisms are muted,” (Ramsay Cook). A list of films with cult-status, critical acclaim, or a committed, unique vision, all of which try to be great films more than they try to be ‘Canadian’ to secure funding.
