Thrill, pain, despair, honor, terror, courage. The grim ballet of swordplay. The dark, intimate dance of hand-to-hand engagement.

War is now a push button affair, and yet we still feel its sting. But for most of human history if you wished to kill a man, you had to put a blade into his body and watch his life drain crimson into the muck, the sand, the brutal fields of stone.

The blade is the fang and claw of the self-loathing predator that is the human animal. And if war is the expression of this animal’s evil creative impulse, then the sword has been its most preferred conveyor of that expression.
