Every now and again, I encounter an advertisement that really overcomes its marketing medium by bringing a strong sense of poignancy or insight to its subject. It stands alone as art. These are those commercials that stand on their own. [Edit: I couldn’t find any of the included commercials on mubi.com, so I included Ridley Scott’s ‘1984’ ad since you have to have at least one film per list.
