The magnificent team of director Allan Dwan, producer Benedict Bogeaus and director of photography John Alton are responsible for creating some of the most beautiful films ever created in American cinema with a deceptional simplicity. Dwan is Roberto Rossellini of the action films. Almost all of these films are in color (a ragged RKO color!), and some of them in cinemascope. So far I’ve seen all, except last two. 1.
