Ranked list. Perhaps not too cool to segregate out from the general prison population, but…well here it is. I didn’t include shorts, sticking with the features (60 minutes or longer); otherwise would probably stack the deck with my fav Keaton and Chaplin comedy shorts. I’m a fan of street-life films capturing the world of the 20’s: People on Sunday, Berlin: Symphony of a Great City, Man with a Movie Camera. Lots of Murnau, Lang, Chaplin, and am digging into Borzage, Sternberg, Lubitsch. And yeah, Chaplin’s Modern Times is a bit of a transitional hybrid, but I’m sticking it here.
